MUSICAL INSTRUMENT MUSEUM
What is the Musical Instrument Museum you ask? We didn't know either, but it was awesome.
My dad made a new friend on his visit:
Make that two new friends!
National guitar shaped like the very country we are driving across:
Roy Orbison's handwritten lyrics to "Oh Pretty Woman":

ROOM 253
Checking into a hotel room is always an exciting time. You always wonder what the room will look like or how big it is or how crappy it is.
Never once have I wondered, hey, I wonder if there's a dude sleeping in my bed with his shoes off.
But now that is all I will think of.
Because it happened.
Yes, our trip was off to the most rousing start possible as we entered our room at the Anaheim Plaza Inn to find two people laying in our beds, watching our television.
In retrospect, the fact that the hotel sits directly behind the Tower of Terror should have been a large clue as to the kind of experience we were in for.
So being the calm, rational person I am, I immediately started yelling at everyone. The dude. His friend. This would have extended to the hotel staff had I been given the opportunity. Thankfully my dad stepped in.
Basically these people checked out, snuck back in after cleaning -- and a fun day at the Happiest Place on Earth -- and decided to rest until they knew people would be checking in at 3pm.
We arrived at 2:50pm.
As the dude explained to me, "We were only going to stay 10 more minutes."
Oh why didn't you say so?
Quite the start - photos from our day in Phoenix, Scottsdale, the Musical Instrument Musuem and the Wild Horse Casino coming tomorrow...
